Dance Studio Rental - Booking & Cancellation Policy

Our goal is to provide a reliable, clean, and friendly space for movers and emoters of all styles. The rental policy is designed to make sure that everyone is able to have the best possible experience in the studio while keeping our community safe by following COVID-19 prevention protocols. Thank you for your help in achieving this goal!


All Rentals - Booking & Equipment Policy
  • No renter is to enter the studio without prior booking approval from the studio manager. This will result in immediate cancellation of studio access.
  • Rental requests should reserved through the Acuity booking system OR be sent via email to info@brightstarworlddance.com .
  • Last minute requests cannot be guaranteed but will be accommodated to the best of the studio manager's ability.
  • Reserved time is private time. Renters have exclusive access to the studio during this time.
  • We are currently leaving 15 minutes between each booking. Please check the studio calendar before you depart and leave the ceiling fans ON if another renter is booked the same day.
  • 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after your reserved time is for cleaning, set-up and break-down. It is each renter's responsibility to leave the to leave the studio neat, clean, and ready for the next renter.
  • Please notify the Studio via email right away if anything is amiss so that any issues can be appropriately addressed.
  • Non-marking indoor-only dance shoes are permitted on the dance floor. All other shoes must be removed on the 2nd floor. It is the renter's responsibility to ensure that everyone entering the studio removes their shoes on the second floor.
  • Sound system with Bluetooth, aux cable, and iPhone adapter is provided.
  • Please treat all studio equipment with care. All renters rely on this equipment. If you notice any problems with existing equipment, please notify the studio manager right away.
All Rentals - COVID-19 Policy
  • Masks are encouraged but optional in the studio for all uses. Masks are available in the vestibule.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is not required by the studio.
  • The instructor/organizer can choose to require masks and/or vaccination. The studio strongly encourages the use of our ventilation options during all uses year round.
  • If you have any symptoms associated with COVID-19 including but not limited to cold/flu/allergy symptoms, or have been exposed to a person carrying COVID-19, please refrain from using the studio until the window of possible spread has passed, and please communicate this request to your students/attendees, as well.
  • Contact the studio immediately if you need to reschedule your rental due for these reasons. The studio can offer a 50% credit on file in case of COVID-19-related cancellations.
All Rentals - Cancellation Policy
  • Refunds are not available for rent paid. Credit is available in some circumstances as noted on this page.
  • Advance notice via email is required in order to reschedule. See below for time period specific to each rental type.
  • All cancellation notifications must be submitted in writing via email to info@brightstarworlddance.com.
  • In case of inclement weather or illness of the renter, the Studio can offer a 50% credit on file to be used towards future rentals for up to 6 months, as long as the studio is notified in writing via email prior to the start of the scheduled rental.

Teaching Events - Classes, Workshops, Private Lessons
  • Teachers must carry instructor liability insurance with a company licensed by the Maine Bureau of Insurance (click here for the lookup website), name Bright Star World Dance LLC as an additional insured, and provide a certificate to the Studio prior to your first teaching rental.
  • Teachers must collect and retain students' legal name, current address, email address and phone number of all students in case of need for contact tracing.
  • Teachers must require students to sign a waiver of liability prior to coming to the studio.
  • Teachers must ask students and themselves to honestly answer COVID-19 symptom screening questions before coming to the studio and upon arrival at the studio, and provide a temperature check upon arrival.

Private Lessons
  • Rent is due in full via Stripe or Paypal at the time of booking to reserve your date and time.
  • Rentals can be rescheduled with no penalty with notice by the renter at least 72 hours (3 days) prior to the rental date/time.
  • Cancellations with less than 72 hours’ (3 days) notice are not eligible to be rescheduled, unless in case of COVID-19 symptoms or inclement weather, in which case a 50% credit on file can be used for up to 30 days.

Ongoing Weekly Rentals
  • Cancellations scheduled by the renter at least 30 calendar days in advance, for up to 2 consecutive weeks, will not incur a rental fee.
  • Cancellations made at least 30 calendar days in advance, for 3 or more consecutive weeks' classes, will incur a rental fee of 50% of the rental cost if the renter wishes to retain their spot for future use. There will be no charge for the first two consecutive weeks' cancellations when at least 30 days' advance notice is given.
  • If the renter wishes to cancel their time slot altogether, at least 30 days’ notice is required, beyond which time period no additional rent will be owed.
  • Rent must be paid for all cancellations by the renter with less than 30 days’ notice.
  • Holiday cancellations are not assumed and must be submitted in advance like other cancellations.
  • The studio reserves the right to cancel classes with at least 30 days’ notice. However, the studio recognizes the importance of stability and will make every effort not to cancel rentals.

Dedicated Dancers
  • Hours are available on a first come, first served basis.
  • A Dedicated Dancers "month" starts on the day of signup and renews on the same day the following month.
  • Renters may schedule in advance for the entire month, or as needed throughout the calendar month, up to 30 days in advance.
  • Cancellations with more than 72 hours’ (3 days') will receive a 50% credit on file that can be used until the next renewal.
  • Cancellations with less than 72 hours’ (3 days') notice are not eligible to be rescheduled, unless in case of COVID-19 symptoms or inclement weather, in which case a 50% credit on file can be used until the next renewal.
  • Unused hours do not roll over to the next month and are not refundable. Prime evening hours may not be available.
  • Private practice/rehearsals only. Private lessons and publicly advertised events are to be booked as Occasional Rentals.
  • Dedicated Dancers subscriptions may be cancelled at any time after a 3-month minimum commitment. Unused hours are not refundable.

Occasional Rentals - Scheduled 30 days or LESS in advance
  • Rent is due in full via Stripe or Paypal at the time of booking to reserve your date and time. All rent paid is non-refundable.
  • Cancellations with more than 72 hours’ (3 days) notice will receive a 50% credit on file that can be used for up to 30 days.
  • Cancellations with less than 72 hours’ (3 days) notice are not eligible to be rescheduled, unless in case of COVID-19 symptoms or inclement weather, in which case a 50% credit on file can be used for up to 30 days.

Occasional Rentals - Scheduled 30 days or MORE in advance
  • Rent is due in full at the time of booking to reserve your date and time.
  • Cancellations with more than 30 days' notice will receive a 50% credit on file that can be used for up to 30 days.
  • Cancellations with less than 30 days’ notice are not eligible to be rescheduled, unless in case of COVID-19 symptoms or inclement weather, in which case a 50% credit on file can be used for up to 60 days.
